Public Information Request

The Texas Public Information Act gives the public the right to request access to government information and provides information on basic procedures, rights, and responsibilities regarding Public Information and Open Records Requests Your Rights as a Requestor of Public Information

  • Requests must be made to Gulf Coast Water Authority via online submission, email, or U.S.P.S. to initiate the Authority's obligations under the Public Information Act.
  • Requests should be for information already in existence, as governmental bodies are not required to answer questions, perform legal research, or comply with a continuing request to supply information on a periodic basis as such information is prepared in the future.
  • GCWA will notify the requestor in advance of any charges associated with the request.
  • GCWA records are available for inspection or duplication unless an exception to disclosure listed in Government Code Chapter 552, "Public Information," applies. Information may be withheld from public disclosure pending a decision by the Attorney General.
